The older kids had an orthodontist appointment today, and I decided it would be a great day to play hookey from school (no hookey from me when I can work from home, but it's still fun). I forgot the other half already made plans to have the carpets cleaned, so the kids were stuck in our room for a few hours watching movies...I came in to see how it was going and this is what I found. too cute that the dog seemed to enjoy the movie as much as the kids did!

a random mall trip on sunday found us at a career fair/school fair of sorts. Insert a little wandering and two of my favorite men are on "TV" ;) The teenager said it's definitely harder than you think it is to read a teleprompter.

So proud of all of these girls!!! Second place (silver medal) in the State Championship competition at the Daytona Ocean Center. Stellar work ladies, I can't wait to see what happens in Tampa next month!

I enjoy sports. I get into the games and I get hyped to cheer on the boys no matter what they are playing at the time. but I LOVE competitions involving dance/cheer. Brings me back to growing up and all the crazy chaotic times at competitions and dance camps. Alyssa cheered in the State Championship competition today. Daytona Beach Ocean Center. It's the start of a two day competition and I know they are going to ROCK IT! GO Lake Mary AllStars Youth Teal squad!

It's not often that all five of us are home and together on a Friday night. So when we are, I like to make dinner easy and fun. Pizza and Wings are always a huge hit, and just the smell in the car on the way home makes me smile. Always a great start to the weekend!

Music makes my world go 'round. The center console of my car is the only area that stays a complete disaster, because how am I supposed to get rid of any cd's I own?? A little Air Supply, Journey, or Jimmy Buffett takes me back to being a kid and my mom blasting the stereo as she cleaned the house while I played close by. A little Poison, Bon Jovi, Tiffany, Metallica, or NKOTB and I'm back in my poster filled early teen room gossiping with girlfriends. REM starts and I'm reminded of senior year in HS and how I completely understood that yes... everybody does indeed HURT sometime. Garth Brooks, Tim McGraw, Randy Travis...yes boys..you all bring back the transition of High School to "the real world" and the bitter sweet feeling of your first love fading away. Oasis always reminds me of that great house I shared with Greg on Princeton, and how he was and always will be one of my very best friends. Switch over to Jason Mraz, Jack Johnson, Jason Aldean..and here I am.. the person I am today. I think music helps me get through anything, and also reminds me to look at even rough times in the past through rose colored glasses. I love my cd's, I love the songs on my I pod. I can find relevance in just about any song I hear, and my taste spans the dial depending on my mood.

I don't know what it is about scarves and jackets, but when I'm wearing something I love like that, I feel sassy all day long. I wish the brightness of the pink in the scarf had come out, but the office bathroom isn't the best "shoot location" .

One day each week I treat myself to Starbucks on the way to work. It's a nice break from my own coffee, and I completely love the people that work at this Starbucks. Today was a good caramel macchiato kind of day.

Another crafting project complete! A nice warm hat for my love to use on his upcoming ski trip :) I love being able to make things for the people I love.

5 months of training. 168 miles logged. All in preparation for today. First half marathon completed. 13.1 miles in 3 hours 1 minute. It's an amazing feeling to know you actually did just what you set out to do, and made better time than you expected!

Due to schedule changes and new routines, the smallest sunshine and I have had a little one on one time in the mornings this week. It's been fun to spend time with him and have conversations about school and work and horses that wear blankets to stay warm. It's also amazing to watch him progress and become more independent. Two weeks ago he would have never even attempted to put his own shoes and socks on. Now, you have to let him or he insists that he know how to do it. I love watching him grow into his own little person :)

I know I live in a small town. I also know the area our neighborhood in is even smaller.. What I didn't know is that this is apparently acceptable towing behavior. No, he did not just pull out of the driveway, he had been driving with the vehicle at a 45 degree angle for about a mile when I took this. Awesome.

This is my favorite thing in my office. It's a simple corkboard that hangs directly in front of me every day, while I am chained to my desk. It makes me smile. It reminds me of why I work so hard, and why I also don't stay late at the office anymore. The pictures change from time to time, and some are always harder to take down than others. I like to update it with current pics, fun places we've been, friends I have or haven't seen often enough, even just random moments that make me laugh everytime I see them. I love my board, and all the great people in my life that help to keep the board full. :)
